Project Components

The project prepares the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts to achieve accreditation under the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Model. It reviews existing processes, develops a self‑assessment, defines improvement initiatives and trains staff on excellence principles. The project also mentors a team of internal evaluators and helps prepare the application dossier for certification.

A. The Challenge

As a young institution, the institute lacked structured quality management and self‑assessment processes aligned with the EFQM model. Staff needed guidance to understand excellence criteria and evidence requirements.

B. Our Solution

We conducted workshops to familiarise staff with the EFQM framework, performed a comprehensive self‑assessment and identified gaps in strategy, process and results. Our consultants drafted improvement plans, implemented quick wins and coached internal teams to prepare for external assessment.

C. Key Achievements

The institute established a robust excellence management system, trained ambassadors and submitted a strong EFQM application. Processes and performance measures were documented, staff engagement increased and the institute demonstrated readiness to achieve European Excellence recognition.
