This project evaluated and developed 33 children’s and girls’ centres across the Emirate of Sharjah. It combined quantitative surveys and qualitative workshops and interviews to assess programmes, facilities and governance. The team produced tailored improvement plans, designed modern programmes, recommended facility upgrades and delivered training to staff and management.
A. The Challenge
The centres varied widely in quality and lacked standardised programmes and facility specifications. Decision‑makers needed an evidence‑based understanding of strengths and gaps to modernise services and align them with the community’s evolving needs.
B. Our Solution
We conducted a comprehensive evaluation using surveys, workshops and interviews with staff, parents and children. Based on findings, we developed improvement roadmaps, new programme designs and facility upgrade recommendations. We also provided training and guidance to ensure sustainable implementation.
C. Key Achievements
The evaluation provided clear insights and actionable recommendations, enabling the centres to modernise curricula, upgrade facilities and enhance safety. Stakeholders embraced the roadmap, and pilot implementations demonstrated improved user satisfaction and engagement.
